Benish, James Edward, 70 Oct. 11, 1943 - Dec. 14, 2013

James "Jim" Benish, of Sunriver, died Dec. 14, 2013, of melanoma, he was 70. A service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Holy Trinity in Sunriver. A rosary will be said before the service and a reception will follow.

Jim was born Oct. 11, 1943, in Oakland, Calif., the son of Richard and Elizabeth Benish and brother of John Benish. He married Lana K. Fischer on Feb. 22, 1969, in Oakland, Calif.

Survivors include his wife Lana; daughter, Stacy (Eric) Hinz of Seattle; son, Scott (Koren) Benish of Portland; brother, John Benish of Oakland, Calif.; and grandson, Cash Hinz. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any cancer center, hospice house or food bank.
