Bob Pickus
Beloved husband and father of two, passed away on October 21, 2006. Bob is survived by his wife Carolyn Schour; his children Ted and Rebecca; and his father-in-law Lionel Schour. Bob was a graduate of Oakland High School. After college he served with the Peace Corps in Liberia and taught at School-Within-a-School at Skyline High School in Oakland. He received his law degree in 1978 and practiced law for the next 28 years, most recently at the Alameda County Employees' Retirement Association. Bob also devoted countless hours to pro-bono legal work in the East Bay and was the author of a legal guide for the general public. Throughout his life, Bob was passionately devoted to helping those in need and had a lasting impact on so many in his life. Donations in Bob's memory can be made to the Homeless Action Center in Berkeley or Oxfam International.
