John Ewers

John Oliver Ewers was born Sept. 15, 1949 in Seattle, Washington to Frank and Olive Ewers. His family moved to Oakland where he attended the public schools, and graduated from Oakland High. He went on to graduate from San Francisco State. He worked at Marina Boatyard and Grand Marina for 27 years, then became the Health & Safety Director at Eandi Metalworks. He was a member of Faith Fellowship Church in San Leandro for many years.

John was a devoted husband and father, and a caring friend to many. He loved golf, astronomy and biology. He also enjoyed hiking and camping, but had to discontinue due to his heart problems which eventually took his life.

John is survived by his wife Patty, son Dan, daughter Evie, brothers Roger and Doug, sisters-in-law Nancy and Ann, cousins, nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents Frank & Olive, and his brother Joe.

If John was still with us, he would say, "Hug each other a lot, and remember to say 'I love you' frequently, because tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone. God loves you so much that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life." We who remain behind, have hope we will see him again someday.
